The course is aimed at technicians, authorities and leaders who want to train in Road Safety in an online university course, taking advantage of their time to receive a postgraduate degree endorsed by the European University, CIFAL Madrid RACE and the United Nations through UNITAR.

The course will be taught through the Virtual Campus of the European University, and has the participation more of 40 national and international professors from different leading institutions in mobility and road safety.

Students will be able to follow real-time classes taught by each of the teachers or access to the videos later as they will be stored in the virtual platform .

The objective of this postgraduate course is to offer professionals who are already working, or want to focus their careers on the topics of road safety management, a variety of tools that allow them to propose solutions to different problems that may appear in their field of activity (urban planning, consultancies, road safety campaigns, etc).

The course is aimed at professionals dedicated to Road Safety management, with an executive and decision-making profile in the area of policies to be developed in their respective entities in the field of road safety, traffic, prevention and mobility.

Thanks to the incalculable experience accredited during the postgraduate course in Management and Direction in Road Safety by CIFAL for the UN. Competences to be acquired by the Road Safety expert:

To have and understand knowledge in the areas of study, in this case Road Safety and Mobility, based on their training and previous experience, reaching a level of knowledge that includes the most advanced aspects in this field.
Know how to apply this knowledge to your work in a professional way.
Acquire knowledge for the elaboration and defense of strategies, as well as solve the resolution of problems in the field of Road Safety and mobility.
Be able to collect and interpret relevant data (usually within their professional development area) to establish policies and actions on traffic and road safety from a scientific and technical perspective.
Being able to transmit information, ideas, problems and solutions to a specialized and non-specialized audience.
Develop those learning skills necessary to undertake further training with a high degree of autonomy.

The structure of this course will allow for the acquisition of skills which can be used in day-to-day professional practice from the programme’s outset. In addition to the theoretical agenda, information have been prepared to centres and entities that are prominent in Road Safety and Management, such as the M-30 management system or DGT, which will provide first-hand
information on the experiences, innovations and ways of operating of the different organisations involved in traffic and the management of transport.

We propose that classroom training should consist of two-hours online session per day, from Monday to Friday. At the end of each class, there will be a time to answer questions, or to clarify
issues that are better tailored to each individual case. In addition to the theoretical classes, the educational development of the course is complemented by the execution of real projects, both
individual and as a team, that can be oriented toward the problems and realities of each country, working on the basis of a scientific methodology.

The evaluation system will be based on passing the activities and knowledge of the course, distributed as follows:

It is a 300 hours course, divided as follows:

Is a postgraduate university degree with 25 credits.

The course is made up of four modules, distributed in 52 master classes with national and international experts and professionals in:

Research and International Projects.
Urban mobility and preventive policies.
Road Safety Factors.
Training, regulations and Road Knowledge.

Virtual campus

The UEM Virtual Campus is an online virtual platform that allows access to complement the teaching activity material. Through this Virtual classroom student can access notifications, documentation, videos, etc. that teachers understand are necessary for their formation. In the same way, it allows the delivery and evaluation of the different exercises that are carried out during the course.

The cost of the course is 1.925€.
There is a scholarship system that could reduce the cost up to 50%.
